TALKING ABOUT WHAT WE KNOW

EYES WITH NUDE LASHES

April 9, 2020
by Glenda S Wallace
So what have you discovered about yourself
during the siege of the C-Virus?
Are you parked at home?
Considered non-essential to the outside world,
waiting for the high-tide of danger to pass?
Maybe you have a face mask, gloves,
and a shred of hope
for a better tomorrow?

Big QUESTION:
Have you worn the same clothes
twice in a row yet?
How about three days in the familiar?
How does it feel?
Is it wrong?

NOPE.
Particularly not for the independents among us.
Who's to notice as we shelter
alone together,
yearning for the All Clear?

Upside?
We're saving laundry soap.
Dolphins dance in Vienna's canals.
The air over China is clearing.
Some discover that eyelashes are blonde
because the wand of mascara
is forgotten for a garden.
Some sew sweetly for friends
making protective masks
to use later
in the World
of Today.

...Onward.

“A beetle
will chase after an opening of light,
while a cockroach
will scatter at a crack of it.

How are we different from insects?
Nobody is purely good
or purely evil.
Most of us are in-between.

There are moths
that explore the day
and butterflies that play at night.
Polarity is an integral part of nature
— human or not human.”
